At the core of every Uru knife is Damastel®—a rare Swedish particle metallurgy steel that delivers the striking beauty of Damascus with unmatched modern performance. Its layered pattern is formed through a precision powder metallurgy process, offering exceptional edge retention, high toughness, and stainless durability—without the upkeep of carbon steel. Visually stunning and built to endure, it’s the perfect fusion of art and engineering.
Handles That Tell a Story
Each handle is crafted from Desert Ironwood, hand-selected for its deep grain, rich color, and natural hardness. Our artisans choose only the best cuts from our private stock, ensuring every knife is as visually compelling as it is comfortable to hold.
Accenting the handles are mokume-gane bolsters — layered copper, nickel, and silver patterned into a swirling flow of precious metals. This Damascus-style metalwork elevates each knife into a piece of fine art, no two alike.
The Rock Block: Sculpture Meets Storage
The Uru sets are presented in our most extraordinary Rock Blocks, made by in-house artist, Sarah Gage. Each block is handcrafted from rare hardwoods and natural stone collected throughout the year — curated like gemstones.This year’s release features:
